On behalf of an international company creatieven.com is searching the new manager for the design studio in Azië, China. He or she will head the studio with 10 designers. The department works on designs for products, user interaction, communications and innovation.
Job description
The manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the China design center. Works closely together with R&D centers, marketeers and strategic desiners. He or she drives design excellence in close cooperation with creative leadership, manages the effectiveness of resource and budget allocation to projects and manages the customer relationships - annual agreements on design support, programming, alignment with other design groups. Reports to the chief design officer. The manager is responsible for delivery, monitoring, reporting and reviewing results of the studio. Has a strong focus on future improvements in the overall innovation to market process. Provides an appealing work environment for the wellbeing and engagement of professional designers.
Required
The new studio manager should have a master degree in a relevant design area and at least 10 years of experience as a creative manager within an international organisation. Is able to act as an ambassador for design among management, customers, suppliers and employees. He or she needs to have experience with multidisciplinar teams (design of product, communication, user interface and innovation). Must have a strong understanding of the value and critical success factors of an inhouse design team in a business environment. Is able to drive, train and coach staff members.
